Originally from east coast USA, Barbara and her husband now live in Central Europe. A freelance writer and artist, Barbara completed a CELTA course in Prague and is teaching English as a foreign language in Hungary.

Barbara previously worked at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University coordinating the Capitol Forum on America's Future, a program that provides the curriculum and structure for high school students to learn about and discuss various options in U.S. foreign policy. While living in Rhode Island, she also volunteered to facilitate arts workshops for refugees enrolled in English language classes at an adult literacy center.

Prior to that, Barbara worked for 9 years in college admissions at Carlow College (now Carlow University), and was the outreach coordinator with the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project at the University of Pittsburgh, a site of the National Writing Project.

Barbara writes about a variety of topics including contemporary jazz, travel-related articles, child development, and articles specifically related to places she has lived...Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and New York. She has an undergraduate degree in Art Education and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership.
